Airport janitor returns $22,700 diamond to passenger
A janitor at Can Tho airport in southern Vietnam reported a missing diamond to related units and helped return it back to its owner.
After touching down at Can Tho airport in Can Tho City from Hanoi on Nov. 18, a female passenger reported losing a diamond that was 8.85 mm wide and cost VND550 million (US$22,695).
The airport dispatched a team to look for the diamond but to no avail.
The next day, while janitor Vo Thi Thuy Dung, 36, was cleaning up, she saw the diamond stuck in a corner of the passenger boarding bridge. She picked it up and immediately reported to related units.
On Monday, the diamond was handed back to its owner.
Can Tho airport has asked that the Airports Corporation of Vietnam reward Dung for handing back the item.
