It’s infuriating that House Republicans waited so long to release their devastating report that President Biden committed impeachable offenses when he “actively participated” in a foreign influence-peddling conspiracy to enrich his family and then defrauded the American voter by lying about his abuse of office.
Even more infuriating is that Biden will not be held accountable by Congress for his malfeasance.
It’s hard to find a clearer-cut case for impeachment than selling access to the White House to foreigners, including the Chinese Communist Party, for tens of millions of dollars.
The report — a joint effort by the House Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means committees — is believed to have been ready for release back in April, when Democrats were still pretending that Biden was a viable candidate for re-election.
But fears that as many as 10 lily-livered House Republicans would refuse to impeach the president led to the report being shelved until this week.
“Overwhelming evidence demonstrates that President Biden participated in a conspiracy to monetize his office of public trust to enrich his family,” the committees concluded.
Biden “actively participated” in his family’s influence-peddling through his vice presidency and beyond by attending dinners and lunches with son Hunter’s foreign benefactors — from China, Ukraine, Russia and other corrupt countries — and by speaking to them on the phone.
“The Biden family and their business associates received tens of millions of dollars from foreign interests by leading those interests to believe that such payments would provide them access to and influence with President Biden.”
Biden “conspired to commit influence peddling and grift . . . In doing so, he abused his office and, by repeatedly lying about his abuse of office, has defrauded the United States to enrich his family.”
Every allegation is backed up by bank records, documents and testimony, largely thanks to courageous whistleblowers who came forward from the IRS, FBI and within Hunter’s circle.
The coverup by the CIA, FBI, DOJ, IRS and State Department also is mentioned in the report and requires further attention by the next Republican administration.
Like the Johnson-Grassley Senate report of September 2020, which first broke open this sordid tale of corruption, the work of Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and colleagues has been ignored and traduced by the media while Democrats just hope it fades away.
Matter of record
But, while Biden will not get the impeachment he deserves, the report’s meticulous array of evidence stands forever in the official record.
It laughs in the face of all the nauseating eulogies to Biden this week at the Democratic National Convention as the greatest president of all time, a man of integrity and honor so great, he deserves to be memorialized on Mount Rushmore.
Justice may yet catch up with Biden and his family, says Comer.
“Joe Biden has to be held accountable for selling access to the White House. He sold out the country. If he gets away with it, that means there is no deterrent for other people to do the same thing . . .
“The real accountability will have to come in the criminal justice system . . . I believe Joe Biden’s corruption was as big a factor [in his demise] as the debate.”
The Biden family grift is well known to Democrats who worked with the president and elevated him to high office, from Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi to Kamala Harris.
But the same people who turned a blind eye and covered up Biden’s corruption are the ones who covered up his cognitive incapacity and who now are trying to smuggle the mirage candidate in the form of Harris into power without real scrutiny or policies or accountability for her role in the Biden administration’s disasters.
Evidence that prosecutors have foreshadowed for Hunter’s upcoming tax trial in California next month — including that he was paid by a Romanian billionaire to influence US policy — threatened to blow the lid off Joe’s role in the family’s foreign influence peddling.
Comer believes special counsel David Weiss is preparing to lay additional charges against Hunter under the Foreign Agents Registration Act that inevitably lead to his father.
Dems dodge that bullet by swapping horses to Harris, thus cheating the voters of their chance to punish Biden personally in November.
Of course, Harris was complicit in the coverup, so there’s no evading voters’ wrath.
For Rudy Giuliani, the impeachment report is bittersweet vindication.
President Trump’s former lawyer was right from the start about Biden’s corruption.
Giuliani gave a hard-drive copy of Hunter’s infamous Laptop From Hell to The Post before the 2020 election but then our stories were censored by Big Tech at the behest of the FBI and falsely labeled Russian disinformation by the “Dirty 51” former intelligence officials. Biden lied to the American people and got off the hook.
For his trouble, the DOJ spied on Giuliani for almost three years over alleged FARA violations, before dropping the investigation with no charges.
Now Giuliani is being persecuted and bankrupted by lawsuits orchestrated by Democrat law firms working pro bono.
Impeached for Joe’s sins
Trump was impeached for Biden’s sins and now is suffering all manner of lawfare that threatens to put him in jail.
Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon is languishing in jail, conveniently until November, over trumped-up charges of defying a subpoena from Nancy Pelosi’s J6 star chamber.
A lot of blood has been spilled to hide Biden’s corruption.
But now he is no longer any use to the Democrat power brokers, Comer expects a trickle of disclosures from the State Department and the DOJ as the media suddenly reports the story as if it hadn’t been part of the coverup.
On the very day that Congress released its impeachment report damning his corruption, Biden was lauding his own decency and integrity at the Democratic convention.
Delusional, as always, the president delivered the effusive tribute to himself on stage in Chicago Monday night, the 11:30 p.m. time slot being the ultimate indignity inflicted on him by the party that stabbed him in the back when his liabilities grew too obvious to hide anymore.
His anger was unmistakable as he thundered until his neck bulged.
He feigned that it was about Trump, but he was angry for himself and his wounded ego.
He was angry at Obama and Pelosi and everyone else in the party who never gave him the respect and gratitude he felt he deserved.
Pretending he was talking about Harris when he really was praising himself, Biden said: “The ancient Greeks taught us that character is destiny. Character is destiny.”
Yes it is, and we can see the truth of the adage in the humiliating end of Biden’s political career, the sorry state of his disordered mind, and history’s imminent trashing of his legacy.
This is the inevitable fate of a man who lives on lies and may be the harshest justice of all.
