“Thomas”, một nhạc sĩ sáng tác chuyên nghiệp ở độ tuổi hai mươi; anh giấu tên thật và yêu cầu chỉ ghi tên tiếng Anh của mình.

Theo New York Times, Thomas đã đưa phần nhạc và lời lên diễn đàn LIHKG vào cuối tháng 08/2019 và nhờ các bạn khác tự ghi âm rồi anh phối lại, sao cho ca khúc như được trình bày với dàn đồng ca. Thomas cũng sửa lại lời dựa vào những góp ý trong diễn đàn, với hơn 1.000 lượt thu thập ý kiến.
