UK's Queen Elizabeth II Funeral Service 1 Attachment(s) What did the handwritten note on top of the Queen's coffin say? was difficult to read, but the note on top of the Queen's coffin in Westminster Abbey carried a heartfelt final message from a mourning son. Handwritten by King Charles III, it read: "In loving and devoted memory. Charles R." The note lay on a wreath which contained flowers and foliage cut from the gardens of Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Highgrove House. They included rosemary for remembrance, and myrtle cut from a plant that was grown from a sprig of myrtle in the Queen's wedding bouquet in 1947. |
