This has nothing to do with the special forces. Not only do our soldiers surrender their assigned weapons after being discharged, but while on US military base & in active duty, U.S. military personnel are not allow to carry any weapon except for certain training/exercise and the obvious MP. Under article 18 U.S. Code § 921, US. military bases, as federal property, specifically ban any and all firearms.

As far as the SEAL, pictures look like BUDS training. They are not SEAL yet! Pass the SEAL Qualification Training (SQT) then you're a SEAL.
