Demagogue : (conventional definition) is a political leader who tries to get support by making false claims and promises and using arguments based on prejudice and emotion rather than reason

1) play up existing threats and embrace a narrative of victimhood and sow despair
2) mocking, humiliating and denigrating scapegoats is their stock modus operandi
3) often seeking to instill fear by constantly telling their followers they are under mortal threat

4) Hitler, Chavez and Ahmadinejad are examples of worldly demagogues
5) Huey Long, George Wallace and Pat Buchanan are examples of US demagogues

In Trump case, his egotism, hubris and a penchant for violence inevitably will sow his demise and fall from grace.
