The problem with edited quote is sometimes others for whatever reason would bring that quote somewhere else, and that would then become the words of the person who did not say such. By then no one can tell anymore, with brain or not.

Now I know you're concerned that much about your reputation. I, myself, could care less what others think of me (again that's just how I am).

Still I do realize that people sometimes edit others' words in quarrelling and retaliation, and possibly that is necessary at times to make a point, but I don't think that's what we're doing.
