Big Dipper: Realistic Texture

Next up in our cookie dough competition was Big Dipper. This chocolate chip cookie dough, packaged up in an ice cream-like pint, definitely improved on the edible cookie dough formula, but didn’t quite have what it takes for our top spots.

Immediately the testers commented on how realistic the texture of this edible cookie dough was. It really looked and felt like you took a giant spoonful right out of the mixing bowl. However, after taking another bite, we started to pick up on a few artificial notes. Sure, this concoction tasted like cookie dough of a certain kind, but more like the edible cookie cookie dough that you might find in ice cream or even those cookie dough candies that you find at the movie theater. Once we pinpointed that exact and not quite authentic taste, we couldn’t quite shake it. Though that didn’t stop us from going back for a second (or third) bite.
