Default Workers in Bac Ninh to remain at factories from June 2

Employees in the northern province of Bac Ninh, the nation’s second largest novel coronavirus (COVID-19) hotspot, will live and work at their factories, with this policy starting from June 2.

This comes after the provincial People’s Committee issued a notice requesting that local businesses prepare suitable accommodation and meals for workers to allow them to remain at their factories to work as part of COVID-19 containment efforts.

Simultaneously, the province is enforcing stronger measures to control the COVID-19 outbreak by requiring enterprises to reduce the number of employees going to work at factories by at least 50%. In addition, employees must test negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours in order to be permitted to enter their places of work.

Furthermore, those who stay in dormitories will be treated as F2 cases and will not be allowed to go outside.

Bac Ninh province has also allowed enterprises to convert canteens, halls, conference rooms, and meeting rooms into temporary accommodation for employees.

Moreover, local businesses will also set up tents on vacant lands or warehouses in order to create dining areas whilst ensuring hygiene and food standards are met, along with epidemic prevention measures.

Workers in the northern provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh, two localities hardest hit by the latest COVID-19 outbreak, began receiving vaccinations on May 27, with Bac Ninh planning to vaccinate 90,000 workers in the time ahead.
