Default Du khách nước ngoài đến Việt Nam bị thu thuế du lịch?
SÀI G̉N (NV) - Thu thuế một đô la mỗi đêm lưu trú tại khách sạn đánh vào du khách nước ngoài sẽ giúp nhà nước cộng sản Việt Nam thu một khoản tiền không nhỏ. Đó là lời yêu cầu được Tiểu Ban Du Lịch và Nhà Hàng-Khách Sạn của Pḥng Thương Mại Châu Âu tại Việt Nam nêu ra tại một cuộc họp ở Sài G̣n hôm 30 tháng 11.


Rồi đây người ngoại quốc đến Việt Nam sẽ bị đánh thuế du lịch, khác nào một loại thuế “thân.” (H́nh: báo Thanh Niên)

Theo tiểu ban này, hiện nay trung b́nh mỗi năm có khoảng 6 triệu du khách nước ngoài đến Việt Nam. V́ vậy, khoản thuế du lịch này sẽ giúp nhà nước Việt Nam có một ngân khoản kha khá dùng để quảng bá h́nh ảnh đất nước Việt Nam trước cộng đồng quốc tế.

Báo Thanh Niên trích dẫn phúc tŕnh của ông Kenneth Atkinson, chủ tịch Tiểu Ban Du Lịch và Nhà Hàng-Khách Sạn của Pḥng Thương Mại Châu Âu tại Việt Nam, nói rằng chính quyền Hong Kong và Singapore từng đánh thuế du lịch như thế trong hai thập niên 1970 và 1980. Theo ông, hai quốc gia này đă dùng tiền thuế để quảng bá, phát triển ngành du lịch quốc gia. Ông Kenneth Atkinson cũng ngỏ ư chê khoản tiền $2 triệu hàng năm để quảng bá cho ngành du lịch Việt Nam là “quá khiêm nhường” so với các quốc gia lân cận như Thái Lan, Malaysia...

Tuy nhiên, tổng thư kư Hiệp Hội Du Lịch Sài G̣n, ông Tôn Thất Ḥa, đă lên tiếng phản đối lời đề nghị trên. Báo Thanh Niên dẫn lời của ông Tôn Thất Ḥa nói rằng việc đánh thuế du lịch sẽ gây ảnh hưởng xấu cho ngành, đặc biệt trong t́nh cảnh kinh tế suy trầm hiện nay.

C̣n theo dư luận, có rất nhiều việc cần phải làm hiện nay, thay v́ quảng bá h́nh ảnh của đất nước Việt Nam. Chẳng hạn như việc t́m cách ngăn chận nạn cướp giật hoành hành ở các khách sạn sang trọng, tấn công du khách ngoại quốc. Thê thảm hơn là vụ xảy ra mới đây, nhân viên tiếp tân của một khách sạn trung b́nh ở Hà Nội đă đột nhập vào pḥng của một du khách Nhật để trộm. Người này táo tợn hơn, tấn công du khách khi bị phát giác khiến ông này phải nhập viện để cứu cấp.
