Hôm Thứ Sáu, Bạch Ốc cảnh cáo báo Washington Post rằng Bạch Ốc đang thu thập một hồ sơ về một phóng viên báo này sau khi phóng viên này viết rằng cơ sở kinh doanh riêng của Trump đă tính tiền công quỹ ít nhất $900,000.


Hành vi hăm dọa này được xem như Trump chơi kiểu xă hội đen hệt như Putin hay Tập Cận B́nh.

Bài báo tố các công ty của Trump tính tiền chính phủ đăng hôm Thứ Năm 27/8/2020, viết bởi ba phóng viên David Fahrenthold, Josh Dawsey và Joshua Partlow kể rằng Trump Organization đă tính giá cắt cổ đối với cận vệ của Trump trong cơ quan Mật Vụ trong nhiều chuyến Trump tới nghỉ ngơi ở các sân gold và nghỉ dưỡng của Trump.

Sở Mật Vụ phải trả tiền pḥng cho nhóm cận vệ của Trump tại các sân golf và khách sạn của Trump ngay cả khi Trump không có mặt lúc đó, với giá hàng ngày gọi là “resort fees” (lệ phí nghỉ dưỡng) và cũng từng tính giá $1,300 cho mục rất khó hiểu ghi là “furniture removal charge” (tiền gỡ bỏ bàn ghế tủ giường) trong chuyến Trumop tới sân gold của Trump ở Turnberry, Scotland.

Khi tính mặt khác, bạn vận động của Trump và RNC Cộng Ḥa cũng phải trả 17 triệu đô cho kinh doanh của Trump từ 2016 cho các sự kiện, kể cả tiền pḥng, tiền ăn...
