or months some Republicans have been calling for Joe Biden to be impeached or to have the 25th Amendment used to get him out of the White House.
On Sunday, House Minority Leader and California Rep. Kevin McCarthy was interviewed by Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo where he answered the question of impeaching Biden.
“Will you lead drawing up articles of impeachment? Will you look at the 25th Amendment?” Bartiromo said. “What are your plans in terms of leadership as we are in this incredible moment of time?”
McCarthy said his focus right now is “getting every American out” of Afghanistan.
“When we get beyond that point, we’re going to collect all the data and we have a constitutional responsibility to hold people accountable,” he said. “And we will take it wherever the facts bring that forward. If that’s the case, we will move forward.”
The House would have a tough time impeaching Biden as it is controlled by Democrats and led by House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi.
But Republicans have their eyes on taking back the House, and the Senate, in the 2022 elections and then it would be much more feasible that Biden could be impeached.
After the debacle in getting United States troops out of Afghanistan began many Republicans have been calling for Biden to resign or be impeached.
On Thursday two Republican Congress members, namely New York Rep. Claudia Tenney and Florida Rep. Byron Donalds joined the chorus calling on him to resign, The New York Post reported.
“I called for Biden’s resignation the first day this Afghanistan debacle began & it has grown more deadly by the day. Now the Pentagon is confirming a number of US & civilian casualties. I urge my colleagues to join me in calling for the resignation or impeachment of Joe Biden,” Rep. Tenney said.

“Earlier this week, I too called on the President of the United States to resign immediately following his haphazard withdrawal from Afghanistan. He has abdicated his responsibility and duties entrusted to him as POTUS, and he must RESIGN IMMEDIATELY,” Rep Donalds said in a quote tweet of Tenney.

It also followed a press release from Rep. Donalds earlier in the week in which he called for the resignation of Biden.
“President Joseph R. Biden has abdicated his responsibility and duties entrusted to him as President of the United States. This blatant abdication of his office is grounds for President Biden to resign immediately,” he said.
“It has become clear that President Biden has lost complete and total confidence of the American people through his haphazard decision to withdraw from Afghanistan. This botched withdrawal is currently threatening the lives of our servicemen and women, the stability in the region, and our integrity on the global stage,” he said. “ As Commander-in-Chief, Biden is directly responsible for commanding our brave troops with a coherent, strategically intelligent, and sound operation that keeps our Armed Services, citizens, and allied partners out of harm’s way. He has failed on all fronts.
“As an elected member of the United States House of Representatives, I swore an oath to protect our Constitution, and I take that solemn responsibility with the utmost seriousness. In good faith, I cannot look my constituents in the eye, many of whom are veterans, and tell them that the President of the United States can perform the duties entrusted to him by the Constitution. Calling on the leader of the free world to resign his office immediately weighs heavy on my heart, but this must happen to restore American’s safety both at home and abroad, our honor, and faith in the Chief Executive to faithfully execute the duties of the Presidency,” the representative said.
“President Joseph R. Biden must resign immediately,” he said.
The list of representatives that have called for Biden’s resignation is currently at 23, including Reps, Jim Banks, Andy Biggs, Elise Stefanik, Claudia Tenney, Jeff Van Drew, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lance Gooden, Byron Donalds, Ronny Jackson, Greg Steube, Mike Garcia, Jody Hice, Vicky Hartzler, Tom Rice, Lauren Boebert, Mike Waltz, Guy Reschenthaler, Mark Green, Lee Zeldin, Warren Davidson, Kevin Hern, Barry Loudermilk, and Roger Williams.
