Why They Hate Trump
By J.B. Shurk
If you’re old enough to vote in the United States, then you’re old enough to remember a time when Americans of all political stripes liked Donald Trump. A public figure for most of his adult life, a businessman with a taste for luxury, and a showman who embodied the “American dream,” Trump appeared in television shows and movies because people enjoyed seeing him. For decades, he was an American icon with universal name recognition, a global brand, and even a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Then he moved into the political arena, and everything changed. Actors, musicians, and politicians who had once jumped at the chance to be photographed with him pretended they had never met. Writers and entertainers who had always praised him for his generosity began calling him filthy names. Television networks that had made boatloads of money from his goodwill with the public started slandering him as a “wannabe dictator,” a “Nazi,” and a “threat to democracy.”
What happened? Donald Trump dared to challenge the political status quo. By publicly questioning the economic and foreign policy decisions of the Establishment Class in Washington, D.C., he became an existential threat to a system that has long worked against the interests of the American people. As David Plouffe, one of Barack Obama’s closest advisers, inveighed before the 2016 presidential election: “It is not enough to beat Trump. He must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not be allowed to rise again.” Plouffe had harsher words for the guy with a wholesome cameo in Home Alone 2 than he ever had for the leaders of China, Hamas, or Iran.
Why is this one American’s voice so threatening to the old guard? It’s simple: President Trump is (1) a political outsider who (2) rejects the supremacy of the administrative state and (3) prioritizes Americans over foreign nationals.
It might seem strange to call Donald Trump an “outsider.” He’s a billionaire. He’s famous. He’s served as president of the United States. But for all his success, wealth, and celebrity, he is not a member of the ruling political class. If that were not obvious when the Intelligence Community conspired with Hillary Clinton’s campaign to frame him as a Russian spy, it should have become glaringly so over the last eight years as the FBI, DOJ, and Democrat prosecutors have dragged him through an endless spectacle of malicious investigations and corruptly predicated criminal trials. Trump lived a long life without any criminal record. Because he beat the Clinton, Obama, and Establishment Republican political machines, unethical prosecutors want him behind bars until he dies.
Americans can be forgiven for naïvely believing that any child can grow up to be president — or at least enjoy a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington moment in the halls of the nation’s capitol. We have been told from an early age that America’s system of government is of, by, and for the people. We are ostensibly a constitutional republic that protects individual rights, free speech, and representative democracy. Everyone is supposed to have a voice and an opportunity to influence the way our government runs.
The reality is much less inspiring. An unelected and unconstitutional administrative state does most of the actual “governing.” Corporate lobbyists and other special interests write the legislative bills that eventually become law. Agencies issue rules and regulations with far-reaching consequences yet few checks and balances. Most members of Congress do not grasp the significance of their votes or understand how American tax dollars are really spent. The permanent bureaucracy is so large that even veteran lawmakers would struggle to draw an organizational chart that accurately reflects the various committees and sub-groups of the Department of Transportation — let alone something as complex and saturated with “black budget” appropriations as the Department of Defense.
The American people could never hope to control a Leviathan with so many tentacles, and such an autonomous, unruly beast would never deign to consult the public before it acts. There can be no Mr. Smith because there is no representative democracy. The federal government works for itself, enriches itself, and empowers itself. To the vast administrative state, the people are a nuisance to be deceived, mocked, and ignored. The Washington Post’s self-flattering slogan, “Democracy Dies in Darkness,” is a cruel taunt reminding Americans that D.C. has been dark for more than one hundred years.
One of the chief ways that the U.S. government clings to the darkness is by controlling who is allowed inside its ranks. Big Government socialists are good for regulatory expansion. War hawks are handy for feeding the Pentagon and sustaining the military machine. Empire-builders keep the State Department and Intelligence Community busy with world conquest. Marxists are useful because government is their god, and it’s always helpful to have people worshiping a thing that wishes to act with impunity. What’s not helpful is an independently wealthy and independently minded businessman with his own ideas for how the U.S. government can best assist the American people.
Contrary to its advertising jingles, the federal government does not work for Americans. If it did, it would protect Americans from the 650,000 migrant criminals (including roughly 15,000 murderers and 20,000 rapists) who have been shuffled through our open borders and resettled throughout the United States. But multinational corporations, hostile foreign governments, human-traffickers, and drug-smuggling cartels pay top dollar (through campaign contributions, mail-in ballots, kickbacks, and other fringe benefits) to keep America’s borders open. It’s an ongoing criminal conspiracy that should land large numbers of the federal bureaucracy in prison. Instead, politicians and human-smugglers posing as human aid workers give each other humanitarian awards while facilitating rape, overdose deaths, murder, and endless suffering. Then they turn around and call Donald Trump a racist bigot who deserves life in prison. It takes a certain degree of willful blindness and abject stupidity to find nothing sinister in this ongoing tragedy.
Unfortunately for us, the American government prides itself on hiring stupid people. Anyone who listens to Joe Biden or Kamala Harris knows instantly that two morons currently hold the highest offices in the land. This reality is so obvious that it should embarrass anyone who self-identifies as part of the intelligentsia. Instead, academics, journalists, and other “thinking” professionals almost universally support the imbeciles putatively in charge at the White House. The reason is simple: when mediocre minds occupy the Oval Office, the unelected and unaccountable administrative state operates without anyone getting in its way.
Sadly, a tour of Congress proves that stupid is winning. Most of our “representatives” are either empty vessels who can be filled full of Deep State sludge or venal creatures who will gladly drink the sludge for the right price. That’s why so many of them continue to ignore the mountains of evidence that Joe Biden spent the last half-century selling his office to the highest foreign bidders. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle either are guilty of engaging in similar corruption or have brains running on such low wattage that John Fetterman and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seem like savants. Being dumb or crooked is a selling point in Washington. Those possessing both attributes, such as Joe and Kamala, rise to the top.
Meanwhile, President Trump recently told Michigan autoworkers that he wants to “reclaim America’s manufacturing power” while preventing illegal immigrants from taking Americans’ jobs. “I want German car companies to be American car companies,” Trump argued. “I want Asian electronics companies to become Michigan electronics companies. ... I want every manufacturer that has left us to be filled with regret.”
The administrative state is a criminal enterprise that harms Americans and enriches itself. President Trump wants to imprison the criminals and enrich Americans. That’s why the Establishment hates Trump and wants him destroyed.

FEMA blew out its budget to pay for illegals, now it's using its remaining resources to block aid from private citizens
By Monica Showalter
Once again, Lahaina comes to mind..
It's not just the piddly $750 being handed out by FEMA to residents in North Carolina and other states whose homes were destroyed in Hurricane Helene. (A similar amount was handed out to residents of Lahaina, Hawaii, after their town was destroyed by fire.)
It's the lethal incompetence.
Just as cops taking orders from state government officials blocked Lahaina residents in cars from escaping the inferno -- the only survivors were those who defied them and drove through the blockades -- FEMA officials from the federal government are doing all they can to block the delivery of aid to people in the hardest hurricane-hit rural areas, where people need food, water, medicine, shelter and everything else and have been completely cut off from civilization. They're actually stopping them, as if they were trespassers and saying just trust the government.
That might work when people have time, but these hurricane victims don't have time. Their need for aid is immediate.
One aid worker explains why that may be, and it's a doozy of a story:
If you are wondering why citizens are being turned away that are coming to help NC and TN - you'll want to hear my experience as someone who has been doing this as a private citizen for almost a decade.

It has the ring of truth. And private aid deliverers are experiencing things like this:

This comes against the broader picture that FEMA is largely absent, something we have heard in many of the natural disasters over the last 20 years -- it is as if the job is just to big for FEMA, and most likely in this case, where the disaster covered an 800 mile swath of rugged hilly and mountainous land along with flooded valleys, it almost certainly is. Sure, these stories are anecdotal. But it's getting interesting how consistent they are, meaning, someone needs to get to the bottom of it once America has an actual leader.

There also are astonishing inefficiencies, like those big yellow school buses that went unused during 2005's Hurricane Katrina.

Text from a doctor friend whose family lives in a tiny mountain town in north of Asheville that’s been destroyed by flooding: “People are getting insulin by donkey and FEMA’s response is $750 and wait for 3 weeks.”
How is this happening in America?

I have friends in Boone and Asheville and they say the FEMA and state response has been non existent. The destruction is massive and the horrible response is even worse. Now it makes more sense. https://t.co/HqPhjev9gS

Inefficiency, waste and an absence of leadership all around.
That would be so even if they hadn't blown their budget on illegals, which Sens. Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, and the very sharp crowd in hurricane-vulnerable Florida first noticed last May -- I wrote about that here.
But the blown budget raises severe questions about their priorities -- North Carolina's taxpayers paid into that federal program to help people hit by natural disasters, and FEMA chose to pay instead for the housing and feeding of foreign nationals who have no legal right nor legitimate business being in this country. That ought to be a firing offense and it would be if this were the private sector, or most any other administration than the Biden-Harris one, where incompetence is encouraged.
If FEMA can't do the job it's tasked with, and a disaster is unfolding, they've got a moral obligation to invite in any and all who can come in and help. That obligation is so strong it ought to be enshrined into law by Congress.
Instead, they've stopped helicopters delivering aid to the needy and threatened their pilots with arrest. They've made unreasonable demands for 'permits.' Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said he was stopping private drones from spotting those in distress and even reportedly expropriated aid, supposedly to distribute it themselves, though we all know how those things work out. Using their scarce resources to hinder people delivering aid so that they can be the ones delivering aid, once they get around to it or can shake out more from Congress for it, takes away resources from those who need and have a right to that aid.
If this doesn't create a call to reform, or get rid of FEMA and start a new agency where aid is a priority, what does? FEMA seems to have turned into a monster.
On October 1, 2024, Iran fired ballistic missiles into Israel.
Israel’s Army Radio said that Iran had announced that its attack was a response to the killing of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July; to Israel’s killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut on Friday; and to the death of a senior Hezbollah official Abbas Nilfroshan, alongside Nasrallah.
Update: The IDF estimated that about 180 missiles were launched and most were intercepted, with no injuries to Israelis and little damage. Initial reports had cited 400 possible missiles.

If anyone had any doubts about Iran’s sponsorship of Hezbollah and other terror proxies, Iran’s new President dispelled them:
Iran’s “moderate” President Masoud Pezeshkian told a cabinet meeting on Wednesday his country’s failed missile barrage against Israel was a “great source of pride” that “proved the Israeli regime’s Iron Dome system is more fragile than glass.”
Pezeshkian said Iran demonstrated its “dignity and honor” with the attack, which he falsely claimed was executed in compliance with international law as a response to Israel eliminating the leader of Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah.
Not only has Israel succeeded in killing Nasrallah, whose hands have long been drenched with Israeli, American and French blood, they’ve eliminated the entire command structure of Hezbollah and have begun a ground incursion into Lebanon.
This wasn’t the first direct Iranian attack on Israel. On April 13, 2024, Iran fired approximately 300 missiles, cruise missiles and drones into Israel. In both attacks, Israel’s missile defenses, buttressed by American warships, intercepted nearly every missile, and damages and deaths were slight.
In both cases, the Harris/Biden Administration spouted mealy-mouthed support for Israel while demanding Israel not defend itself, stop killing Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists, and above all else, never directly respond to Iran. Harris and Biden apparently still hold out hope for a renewed Iran nuclear deal, even as Iran races to obtain nuclear weapons and laughs at their idiocy.
The invaluable Caroline Glick reveals the current state of Harris/Biden betrayal of her ally, Israel:
Graphic: CarolineGlick Screenshot
She’s right. The Harris/Biden hacks are negotiating levels of war against Israel acceptable to them, and damaging Iran's nuclear weapon program is out. This is unsurprising coming from the man who told Putin a “minor incursion” into Ukraine was just fine, advice Putin took and expanded. This begs the question what level of war against Israel wouldn’t be acceptable?
Would 181 missiles be unacceptable and provoke outright war? Very few Israelis were killed or injured in both attacks. Would 10 deaths move Biden to action? Twenty? 1200? Oh wait, Iran’s proxies have already killed 1200 and taken, and murdered, American and Israeli hostages, so the trigger number has to be higher than that.
Iran’s missile attacks are direct, unmistakable acts of war. But Iran has been killing Americans and Israelis for decades through its terrorist proxies and through the weapons it has provided them, the Iraqis and others during America’s wars in the Middle East. And sorry Joe, Israel's excellence at shooting down missiles doesn't lessen the reality of Iran's war against them and us. This raises important and sobering questions, such as what does it take for Harris and Biden to recognize war has been declared on America and her allies? And should they recognize that fact, what are they prepared to do about it?
Iran believes the answer is they’ll never recognize reality, and even if they did, they’d do nothing but try to keep Israel from preserving her people and nation.
They have solid grounds for their belief. Iran is actively trying to assassinate Donald Trump. Harris and Biden are denying Trump adequate Secret Service protection while simultaneously providing it to Iranian terrorist leaders at the UN. As JD Vance observed in the vice-presidential debate, they’ve enriched Iran by at least $100 billion dollars by waiving sanctions. Their agents, such as Robert Malley have worked against America and Israel while holding high positions in the American government. Another Iranian agent, Ariane Tabatabai, is still working at the Pentagon, her security clearance intact. Why would Iran think any differently?
Graphic: X Screenshot
What American president would abide any enemy raining missiles down on America without recognizing that as an act of war and destroying that enemy? Obviously, Joe Biden, and surely, Kamala Harris should she be elected POTUS.
What’s the point of military alliances if our allies not only can’t rely on American support, but can rely on America to help our enemies and deprive our allies of the weapons and political backing they need to win and survive? Israel is certainly learning the old axiom is true: There is no more dangerous ally than America.
That’s particularly true under Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris, who Biden has taken pains to affirm was directly involved in, and enthusiastically for, his feckless decisions and policies.
Heaven help America and Israel. Biden and Harris certainly won’t.
