Republican Donald Trump has stated that he will not pursue a fourth consecutive run for the U.S. presidency if he loses the upcoming election on November 5, declaring, "that will be it" during an interview released on Sunday. When asked if he envisioned himself running again in four years if his third bid for the White House is unsuccessful, the 78-year-old former president replied, "No, I don't. I think that will be — that will be it. I don't see that at all. Hopefully, we will be successful."

Trump is currently engaged in a competitive race against Democratic U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, with polls indicating a close contest in key battleground states that could be pivotal in determining the outcome. While Trump and Harris are neck-and-neck in these states, Harris has begun to gain ground in national polls.

Trump announced his first reelection campaign for the 2020 election on the day of his inauguration in 2017 and revealed his latest White House bid in November 2022.

Despite his ongoing assertions of widespread voter fraud contributing to his 2020 loss to Democratic President Joe Biden, Trump is facing federal and state criminal charges related to efforts to overturn the election results. He maintains his innocence and views the charges as politically motivated attacks, employing increasingly dire rhetoric regarding the implications of a loss in 2024.

In addition to his campaign, Trump has launched various business ventures, including Trump Media, NFTs, and branded products such as sneakers, coins, and cryptocurrency.

Meanwhile, Harris, 59, has framed the election as a crucial moment for U.S. democracy, focusing on pressing issues like family costs and housing.

When asked if the four-year hiatus had helped him reassess his allies, Trump remarked, "It would have been easier if I did it ... contiguous," but added, "the benefit is more than anything else, it shows how bad they were."

During the interview at his Florida resort, Trump also noted that it was "too early" to discuss potential cabinet appointments should he win in November.
