Hôm nay và ngày mai, 7/6 và 8/6, hơn 9 triệu thí sinh Trung Quốc dự kỳ thi đại học, tiếng Trung Quốc gọi là gaokao.


Trong những năm gần đây, chính quyền Trung Quốc rất quan tâm đến việc thí sinh dùng các thiết bị điện tử như điện thoại thông minh vào pḥng thi phục vụ việc quay cóp. Các thiết bị này ngày càng tinh vi, nhỏ và dễ giấu trong người. Thời báo Hoàn cầu đưa tin, mục đích của các nhà chức trách là ngăn chặn việc bán các thiết bị công nghệ cao phục vụ cho việc gian lận trong kỳ thi đại học.
Trước khi bước vào pḥng thi, Trung Quốc sử dụng máy ḍ kim loại để phát hiện các thiết bị gian lận trong thi cử. Các nữ sinh không được mặc áo ngực có móc kim loại.

Không khí thi đại học đang bao trùm nhiều nơi tại Trung Quốc. Tại Quảng Châu, giao thông cũng được nhường cho các thí sinh. Chính quyền thành phố ưu tiên phương tiện đưa thí sinh đi thi. Tại Thượng Hải, bố mẹ thí sinh đă đặt taxi trước hàng tuần để đưa con em họ tới địa điểm thi đúng giờ.


Các bậc phụ huynh cũng tích cực đến các đền chùa cầu cho con họ thi cử đỗ đạt. Phía ngoài các địa điểm thi, phụ huynh ngồi chờ con và chuẩn bị sẵn đồ ăn, thức uống phục vụ con em họ.
Kỳ thi đại học ở Trung Quốc gặp phải nhiều chỉ trích v́ đặt quá nhiều áp lực vào các thí sinh. Trong những năm gần đây, lượng thí sinh dự thi đại học ở Trung Quốc giảm đáng kể.
Theo Epochtimes, từ năm 2008 đến 2011, số lượng các thí sinh giảm dần, lần lượt là 10,5 triệu, 10,2 triệu, 9,46 triệu và 9,33 triệu. Năm nay, ước tính là 9,12 triệu thí sinh.
