Nhà Obama có hai cô con gái. Cả hai đều được cha mẹ giáo dục tốt và cung cấp môi trường tuyệt vời để phát triển. Malia Obama được cho là đã hút một điếu cần sa khi cùng bạn bè tham dự một lễ hội âm nhạc.


Radar Online dẫn lời Jerrdin Selwyn, 18 tuổi, cho hay cô đã tận mắt chứng kiến con gái lớn của Tổng thống Barack Obama dường như hút một điếu cần sa tại lễ hội âm nhạc ở thành phố Chicago, bang Illinois, hôm 31.7.

"Tôi đã nhìn thấy Malia hút thuốc và tôi có một vài hình ảnh để chứng minh điều này", Selwyn nói. "Cô ấy chỉ đứng cách tôi vài mét và có thể ngửi thấy mùi cần sa tỏa ra từ điếu thuốc mà cô ấy đang hút. Tôi nhìn thấy một số anh chàng đưa thuốc cho cô ấy và cô ấy đã lấy ít nhất một điếu. Cô ấy cầm điếu thuốc trên tay khoảng một phút rồi sau đó đưa lại cho anh ta".

Selwyn còn cho rằng Malia là người duy nhất hút thuốc mà cô nhìn thấy xung quanh mình.

"Suốt thời gian này, các nhân viên mật vụ vẫn ở đằng sau. Tôi không chắc họ có nhìn thấy cảnh đó không", cô nói.

Selwyn kể thêm rằng cô đã nghe Malia hỏi một bạn trai đi cùng rằng anh chàng chàng có muốn đi hút thuốc không.

"Tôi không rõ câu trả lời của anh ta nhưng anh ta đứng dậy sau đó vài giây và họ đi cùng nhau", Selwyn nói.

Một video dài 9 giây được trang tin trên đăng tải cho thấy Malia cầm một vật trông như điếu thuốc đằng sau các cô gái đang nhảy nhót.

Năm 2006, ông Obama khi đó là thượng nghị sĩ bang Illinois, từng thừa nhận với tờ NY Times rằng ông đã sử dụng ma túy khi còn trẻ. Trong cuốn sách đầu tay "Những giấc mơ từ cha" xuất bản năm 1995, Obama cũng viết rằng ông từng sử dụng cần sa và cocaine, nhưng không dính vào heroin vì "không thích gã bán thuốc đó cho mình".

Cần sa gần đây đã được hợp pháp hóa tại bang Illinois. Thống đốc bang Bruce Rauner đã thông qua dự thảo luật xóa bỏ các hình phạt với những người sở hữu dưới 10 gram cần sa.

Trước đó, tại lễ hội trên, Malia cũng từng gây tranh cãi khi ăn mặc gợi cảm và say sưa lắc lư theo nhạc. Thậm chí, Malia còn phấn khích đến mức vén váy lên, để lộ chiếc quần đùi ngắn bó sát bên trong.

Khi những hình ảnh này được lan truyền trên mạng, Malia phải đối mặt với không ít chỉ trích, hầu hết được cho là đến từ những người ủng hộ đảng Cộng hòa.

Theo họ, việc con gái tổng thống ăn mặc và nhảy nhót như trên là khó chấp nhận. Họ cũng chỉ ra việc cô bé đã đến lễ hội âm nhạc mà không cùng bố mẹ tham dự đại hội toàn quốc của đảng Dân chủ, nơi bà Hillary Clinton được lựa chọn làm ứng viên tổng thống Mỹ.

Tuy nhiên, nhiều người khác lên tiếng bênh vực Malia, cho rằng cô bé cũng là một người bình thường và có quyền được vui chơi với bạn bè.

Malia vừa tròn 18 tuổi tháng trước và quyết định nghỉ ngơi một năm trước khi trở thành sinh viên đại học Harvard.

Không phải tôi condone drug use, nhưng nếu chỉ vì bị thâý hút 1 điếu thuốc phiện at a party(if it really is 100% pot for sure) mà nói sa ngã thì hơi quá. Cho dù cô ta dùng marijuana more than just once mà học giỏi và đủ điểm cao (grade + SAT score) để vào được Harvard thì đó không phải là chuyện dể làm. Most people who can get in Harvard have 4.0 GPA (i.e. all A's), get at least 1300-1350 SAT score out of 1400 (at least as of 15-20 years ago), as well as have a lot of extracurricular activities.

Do you think she got the free pass because she is a daughter of The United States President? I know all famous University love to give a free pass to famous politicians' children to attend their school as doing a favor and also free advertisement.

mmmmm I don't think so, at least for this case. I am sure that does happen some (nepotism and mutual PR), but forget about Obama's current status. Before this, the Obamas were very very successful lawyers, Michelle even more so than Barack. So, I don't think their daughters inherited any dumb gene from the parents

Many highly sought after private institutions do admit student of lesser academic caliber b/c of name, family relationship, former alum and influential connections/recommendations. But most will accept the same student based on the ability and willingness of the parent to pay the full cost.

I think vinhduong68's question of free pass refers to your "Many highly sought after private institutions do admit student of lesser academic caliber b/c of name, family relationship, former alum and influential connections/recommendations"

I think if a prospective student's parents "donate" a wing or a building built in their name, that probably will get an applicant with lesser academic caliber in. However, I don't think the Obamas would do that. That would be damaging to their brand. Plus, both Barack and Michelle went to Harvard and became very successful attorneys. I don't think the genetic apple would fall far from that tree.
