Trước đó, trưa 27-4, người mẹ trẻ (quê Quảng Trị) đi chiếc xe máy cũ tới cầu Hóa An đứng thẫn thờ một hồi lâu. Sau khi để lại xe, đôi dép và một số vật dụng khác, người mẹ trẻ gieo mình xuống sông Đồng Nai mất tích.Nhận tin báo, lực lượng chức năng TP Biên Hòa tổ chức tìm kiếm nhưng chưa có kết quả. Ngay trong ngày hôm qua, cha mẹ nạn nhân đã bắt xe khách từ Quảng Trị vào Biên Hòa cùng mọi người tìm kiếm con.

Được biết, gia cảnh người mẹ trẻ này rất khó khăn, ở trọ ở TP Biên Hòa. Trong thư tuyệt mệnh để lại, người phụ nữ này viết rằng không muốn sống cuộc sống như thế này nữa, mệt mỏi lắm rồi. Về phần con thơ, người mẹ trẻ nhờ cha mẹ, chồng thay mình tiếp tục chăm con.
