More stranded Vietnamese citizens repatriated from northern Myanmar

Nearly 400 Vietnamese citizens who were stranded in northern Myanmar due to the armed conflict were successfully repatriated on Saturday morning. This repatriation effort was a collaborative undertaking involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), competent agencies in Vietnam, and Vietnamese representative offices in the region. It marks the second repatriation effort following the first, which took place from December 4 to 6. With this latest effort, the total number of Vietnamese citizens brought home has reached nearly 1,400. Importantly, the entire cost of repatriation is covered by the Vietnamese government.

As the armed conflict in Myanmar continues to develop in a complex manner, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Vietnamese citizens to avoid these conflict areas and strictly adhere to the instructions provided by the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar and local competent authorities. The Ministry has also reiterated its warning to Vietnamese citizens to exercise caution regarding potential job scams. These scams often involve false promises of well-paid and easy jobs in foreign countries, typically without any qualifications or degree requirements.
